My Trip to Great Smokey Mountains National Park

I so enjoyed my recent photography trip to the Smokey Mountains. I gazed at Cades Cove in wonder, my eyes drank in the beauty of it's meadows and mountains. I pondered the life of the early European settlers as I observed their cabins and barns. What an awesome place!
This cabin is the John Oliver cabin in Cades Cove. It is the oldest cabin in the cove. John Oliver is thought to be the earliest European settler to the cove and it is said he arrived in 1818, too late in the year for crops or building a home. His family survivied the first winter in an abandoned indian dwelling with the help of the Cherokee Indians, who brought them dried pumpkin to eat.

A Model Yipee!!!

My friends little boy was more than happy to pose for me.... as long as I took a few of his kind of shots (see the last two). He happily would pose, as soon as the shutter clicked he would come running saying "let me see" "let me see". We both had fun so I'm hoping to borrow him again soon.

Welcome to my blog. I plan on sharing things I see and capture thru my camera.

About Me

My photo
I am 49 years old, I have 2 adult sons, a grandaughter & a grandson. I am happily married to the love of my life. I have been intrigued with photography for as long as I can remember. I am constantly striving to learn something new and improve my photography. I love doing portraits, macros, and scenic shots. I literally take my camera everywhere I go. I find that the more I learn about photographing my world, the more I learn to "see" the beauty around me.
